If you look back at my review of the Invisible Shield for my Ipod Nano, you would see that I was very pleased with the protection it provided me.  Well after all this time I did find that it could not protect it from everything, especially my stupidity.  Here is the back story.  One evening it was time to do the laundry.  My wife asked me if I had anything to go in and I said I had a pair of jeans that needed washing.  My wife, knowing me better than anyone else, suggested I check the pockets first.  So I reached into the pockets and found nothing.  So in the washing machine they went.  When I got my jeans out of the dryer you can imagine my shock when I realised my Nano was in there.  I had it in the small pocket and didn't feel it when I reached in.  Well the Ipod was really clean and the invisible shield was on it fine, but unfortunately the shield does not protect it against water damage!  Go Figure ;)  So I had to go out and buy a new Ipod.  So I decided to get the Ipod Touch 2nd generation in 16 gigs.  So I contacted invisible shield to see if I could do a review again.

First thing I noticed when the product came in the mail was that they had definitely upgraded their packaging.  It definitely looked a lot more professional.  The product I got from them was the full body shield for the Ipod Touch 2g.  In the box you will find the application solution and a plastic squeegee. I also noticed they significantly increased the solution bottle size, which is great because I almost ran out last time.   I am not sure exactly whether to call them stickers, because they are so much more than that.  The material that you’re going to put on your Ipod is a product that was originally developed by the military to protect the ends of helicopter blades.  The first thing I did was go to their website at http://www.zagg.com/.  On the website they have an installation video.  This was very helpful to see how the product is applied.  After watching the video I headed upstairs to install the shield. I will try to give you the process in a nutshell.  The first thing you have to do is wash your hands, because you don’t want any oil getting on the Ipod or the shield.  There are basically 3 pieces.  The front and back piece and a small circle to go over the home button. You take the application solution and spray your finger tips and then spray the shield on both sides.  Then you line it up on the device and use the squeegee to get any of the water or bubbles out from underneath the shield.  You then use a lint free cloth to soak up the access water.  From there you continue the process I just talked about for the rest of the pieces. I have to say that I had a lot more easier time getting the water bubbles out this time.  Maybe that was because the Ipod Touch is flatter.  Once you have applied all the pieces you should let the device sit for 24 hrs to set.  I was pretty happy with the way the front and the back looked.  About 12 hrs in I noticed there were a few small bubbles I must have missed!!  I went back to the website and they say that a lot of small bubbles will work themselves out after the product sets.  After 24 hours I was supremely impressed.  It barely looked like I had applied anything.  The only way you could tell something had been applied was if you put the Nano on an angle.  It’s been a few weeks now and it still looks as good as when I had first put it on.  The only thing I had difficulty on was getting the little corner pieces to stick down.  But i would say that is a small price to pay, for getting this kind of protection.

Overall

I am not afraid to put my Ipod in my pocket anymore and it looks as good as the day I bought it.  I have to say that again I am really impressed with there product and would recommend them in a heartbeat.

Highly Recommended.
